Not as tough as I thought they were going to be

These seemed stout and torqued up just fine on one side with minimal bend at 175ft lbs 5/8s fine thread u-bolt. Started torquing up the other side proper sequence and everything same way and it started to bend around 150 ft lbs. not ideal I’m sure it will be fine but won’t be able to re-use them which I was planning to in future. First photo is the badly bent one at 150 ft lbs and second photo is the one that was fine

Wowza! That's a 3/8" thick steel plate, to bend it like you've done is absolutely insane. They should last a lifetime. My only guess is you fully torqued down 1 u bolt, without having the opposite u bolt and nuts installed?
